NOTICE BY PUBLICATION

 For the 2009 Research Grant, we have to pronounce the elimination of support for tribology-related research and development. This action is necessitated by the current serious economic crisis facing global economy. Our funds are donated by Taiho Kogyo Co.LTD, and TTRF can not expect to receive any funding from Taiho Kogyo for 2009.

We are very sorry not to accept any proposals from the researchers who is planning to apply for 2009 research grant. Commencement of funding of Tribology-related research in the future will be discussed by the board at a later date.




  • Revision of Information Servise on Japanese Tribologists
    TTRF revised the Japanese tribologists information on the website, which had been started from 2006.

  • Appointment of TTRF New Director
    Mr. Tatehito Ueda became the president of Taiho Kogyo in place of Mr. Takahashi in June 2009. Then he was elected and appointed to the new TTRF Director by all directors' concent.

  • 2009 Finantial Support for Symposium and Young Triborogists
    On September 6-11, the World Tribology Congress 2009 was held prosperously in Kyoto, Japan. TTRF granted $10,000 to the Congress and also granted $5,000 to the young tribologists of the same congress.

  • 2008 Second Research Grant Scheme
    For the 2008 Second Research Grants, in total US$43,000 was granted to two research themes.

  • World Tribology Congress 2009 (For Young Tribologists)
    Regarding 2009 Symposium Grant Scheme for Young Tribologists, it was resolved that US$5,000 shall be granted to the above congress.

  • 2008 First Research Grant Scheme
    For the 2008 First Research Grants, in total US$50,000 was granted to two research themes.

  • Recommendation Letter of Research Grant
    Regarding recommendation letter, the first-time applicant need to submit one letter, while they needed to submit two until 2007 Second Research Grant.

  • World Tribology Congress 2009
    Regarding 2009 Symposium Grant Scheme, it was resolved that US$10,000 shall be granted to the above congress.

  • 8th Board of Directors Meeting
    The TTRF Eighth Board of Directors Meeting was held in Budapest, Hungary on April 7, 2008. Dr. Holmberg was appointed to new Director as Dr. Cheng's successor.


  • MRS Spring Meeting: Symposium S: Nanoscale Tribology: Impact for Materials and Devices (For Young Tribologists)
    Regarding 2008 Symposium Grant Scheme for Young Tribologists, it was resolved that US$5,000 shall be granted to the above symposium.
