Revision of the application form for research & development grant

In order to give us the background articles of the proposed research theme, TTRF added the item,h List up to five publications in the tribology literature that relate to the proposed research topicsh, in the PROJECT SUMMARY section of the application form for the research grant. By this revision of the application form, the applicant familiarity with publications in tribology literature will be understood

International Tribology Conference Hiroshima 2011

Regarding 2011 Symposium Grant scheme, it was resolved that US$ 10,000 shall be granted to the above congress.

12th Board of Directors on the Web

TTRF carried off the Board of Directors Meeting in person planed in April due to the East Japan Earth-quake. The TTRF 12th Board of Directors on the Web was held in lieu of Annual Meeting in person in April 2011.
TTRF made a decision to do full support this year as a regular year. The first research grant applications are on the way of screening. And the second research grants that deadline is the end of October start to accept applications.

Recommencement of Research Grant for 2010

As we announced in March, Taiho Tribology Research Foundation(TTRF) made a decision to take up the support for the tribology-related research and development works for 2010 that was eliminated for 2009.
For the 2010 Research Grants, in total US$63,000 was granted to 3 research themes selected among the 17 applications.

11th Board of Directors Meeting

The TTRF 11th Board of Directors Meeting was held in Toyota, Japan on April 7, 2010.
In this meeting, fruitful discussion on "Future Activity of TTRF" was executed reflecting "Past Record of TTRF".

10th Board of Directors on the WEB

The TTRF 10th Board of Directors on the WEB was held in February, 2010.
TTRF made a decision to take up the support for the tribology-related research and development works for 2010 that was eliminated for 2009.

Revision of Information Service on Japanese Tribologists

TTRF revised the Japanese tribologists information on the website, which had been started from 2006.

Appointment of TTRF New Director

Mr. Tatehito Ueda became the president of Taiho Kogyo in place of Mr. Takahashi in June 2009. Then he was elected and appointed to the new TTRF Director by all directors' concent.

2009 Finantial Support for Symposium and Young Triborogists

On September 6-11, the World Tribology Congress 2009 was held prosperously in Kyoto, Japan. TTRF granted $10,000 to the Congress and also granted $5,000 to the young tribologists of the same congress.

For the 2008 Second Research Grants, in total US$43,000 was granted to two research themes.

Regarding 2009 Symposium Grant Scheme for Young Tribologists, it was resolved that US$5,000 shall be granted to the above congress.

For the 2008 First Research Grants, in total US$50,000 was granted to two research themes.

Recommendation Letter of Research Grant

Regarding recommendation letter, the first-time applicant need to submit one letter, while they needed to submit two until 2007 Second Research Grant.

World Tribology Congress 2009

Regarding 2009 Symposium Grant Scheme, it was resolved that US$10,000 shall be granted to the above congress.

8th Board of Directors Meeting

The TTRF Eighth Board of Directors Meeting was held in Budapest, Hungary on April 7, 2008. Dr. Holmberg was appointed to new Director as Dr. Cheng's successor.

MRS Spring Meeting: Symposium S: Nanoscale Tribology: Impact for Materials and Devices (For Young Tribologists)

Regarding 2008 Symposium Grant Scheme for Young Tribologists, it was resolved that US$5,000 shall be granted to the above symposium.
