
Support for Young Tribologists
- Objective
- Support young tribologists to attend a tribology-related conference which is expected to contribute to global/regional development of tribology
- Conditions of Receiving Grant
- "Young Tribologists" must be 36 years old or younger at the time of the conference.
- Tribologists from industry or other for-profit organizations are excluded.
- For any conference a maximum number of ten with a maximum of three from any one country awardees will be supported. The grant for any individual young tribologist is limited to not more once every five years.
- Conference organizers are expected to hold a luncheon or other event for the awardees. When TTRF representatives attend the conference, they should be invited to attend the event.
- Note: Applications for "Conference" and "Young Tribologists" may be combined.
- Amount of Grant
- Total amount: Maximum US$5,000/year
- Maximum US$500/young tribologist
- Procedure
- Only conference organizers can apply. (Young tribologists cannot apply to TTRF.)
- No definite due date for application is set, but on a first-come-first-served basis.
- Application form must be downloaded from the link below. Submit the application form filled out necessary items.
- Selection and Funding
- Selection is made at the board of directors meeting.
- The young triborogists are selected by the organizers of the conference and a list of those supported is requested by TTRF.
- The grant is funded to the conference organizer after receiving the list.
- Questionnaire
- Young tribologists are requested to complete the questionnaires. Conference organizers are requested to submit them to TTRF office.
